On the 4th of january in Iloilo there is the Dinagyang festival, the festival of the child Jesus, which celebrates the christianisation of the native people. The localc form long colourful parades and they stroll along the streets, while artists play drama on improvised stages. The "Hala Bira" that closes the festival is a tribal ritual meant to enlighten the spirits.
