San Augustin monastery of Manila

Manila is a former Spanish colony and you will find many beautiful Catholic churches and colonial houses inside the walled city, Intramuros. You should visit the monastery of San Augustin located on General Luna Street. The local legends tell that this is the place where the last Spanish Governor of Manila surrendered to the Filipinos in 1898. Its interior is opulent and the ceiling is painted in 3d relief. The former San Augustin monastery next door is now a religious museum with an admission fee of 65 peso.
